We have kicked off a global campaign to encourage more innovation. To make a point, we have decided to irreverently motivate the 89% of business and government leaders who do not actively pursue innovation. Our solution? Merchandise with a tongue-in-cheek meme: “You call that innovation?” We’re starting with an Ubercool Innovation t-shirt, called “Chuckle,” which humorously communicates this POV.
“Businesses throw around the term to show they’re on the cutting edge of everything from technology and medicine to snacks and cosmetics. Companies are touting chief innovation officers, innovation teams, innovation strategies and even innovation days. But that doesn’t mean the companies are actually doing any innovating.”The Wall Street Journal
“We all know that just about everything has to be reinvented: education, finance, healthcare, government, infrastructure, transportation, even our social media,” observes Ubercool Innovation Founder Michael Tchong. “Our merchandise is designed to unite those who share a passion for renewal or change. Its clever meme will resonate among social media users frustrated by the status quo.”
The idea behind this shirt was provided by a 2012 article in The Wall Street Journal, entitled: “You Call That Innovation?” (see relevant quote left).
So get our high-quality t-shirt today and make a proud statement at business meetings, events, press conferences, even dinner — anywhere people might show up who need a kick in the pants when it comes to innovation.
